If you decide to take the next step, you’ll meet with our in-house dietitian and psychologist to prepare mentally and physically for this significant life change. Appointments are available face-to-face or via Telehealth.

New Beginnings Program

Sunshine Coast Medical Weight Loss Centre’s unique New Beginnings Program offers ongoing support to help you succeed in achieving and maintaining your health and weight loss goals.

For 18 months post-op, we check in closely with your progress through regular appointments with your surgeon Dr Ian Baxter and our in-house team of bariatric GPs, dietitians and psychologists.

No matter where you live, you’ll have round the clock access to our private online Facebook support group to chat with others who understand what you are going through.

Plus, we provide all the information you need to establish long-term healthy eating and exercise habits. Our quarterly e-newsletter and online resources guide you through the ins and outs of sustainable weight loss – including helpful links to podcasts, nutritional guides and recipes.

We’ll also invite you to join our popular group activities to keep you connected, motivated and having fun.

We understand that mixed emotions post-surgery are totally natural and not uncommon. Our New Beginnings Program ensures you will never feel alone as you transform into the healthier, re-energised you – not only for the first 18 months post-surgery but for the years ahead too.

Our friendly team is located under one roof in the Atria Building at Sippy Downs, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. If you live out of the area, you can also make an appointment to see Dr Ian Baxter in his consulting rooms at Morayfield or Gympie. Telehealth appointments are also available for all team members.
